The Benefits Of Purchasing Car Air Ionizers

By Shane Davis

Nearly everyone sense the importance of air quality inside our houses and outside our surroundings. How about the condition of the air inside our cars?According to a survey by The Dohring Company, over 95% of the people polled were concerned about the quality of air inside the car.

Americans spend a huge amount of time inside their vehicle, averaging to 1.5 hours daily.I have a friend who commutes to work two hours a day, five days a week. That is the same as a five-day workweek.

Sorry to say, but latest and continuing surveys show that air inside your car is twice or five times more polluted than that of your house or your place of work. In any case, the car is just of lesser size and the space is more compact than your house or place of work and is more vulnerable to allergies linked to fungus and signs similar to sick building syndrome. Harmful microbes and irritants can proliferate as fungi enter the air through air flows and ventilation systems. Besides formaldehydes and other numerous irritants in the car from pet dander, food leftovers to cigarette stains, everyone in your car is breathing in bits of dust, greenhouse gases and car exhaust fumes.According to Anders Lofvendahl, project manager at Volvo, "In hot climates, volatile hydrocarbons evaporate from plastics and textiles."All of these factors can exacerbate asthma and allergies and create a toxic environment for you and your family. And a study done in 1990 by The International Center for Technology Assessment states "...23 separate scientific studies conducted in the 1980's and 1990's reveal that in-car air pollution levels frequently reach concentrations that may threaten human health." Nearby monitoring stations used to calculate government air quality information showed results of indoor air in cars have more carbon monoxide, benzene, toluene (all cancer-causing agents), fine particle matter, and nitrogen oxides than ambient air. This fact was also stated in that study.

Imagine this - every motor vehicle on the road is breathing in and out poisonous air - that air is in your vehicle. As you are traveling, that air is what you are breathing in continuously as long as you stay inside that enclosed, impure space.

Our dog, Bear, is totally loved by us.He is a 135-pound Newfoundland and loves to ride in the car. The only problem is, aside from the fact that he is occupying the entire back seat of our small car, he sheds and has a lot of dander that smells. Thus, instead of departing the house without him and sulking, our option was to seek out gadgets that will keep the air in our vehicle pure and safe. An air purifier that uses negative ions to get rid of impurities in the air can be plugged in your car through the cigarette lighter plug in, or placing a car air filter, or putting air freshener ionizers - these are some of the propositions. The outer opening is shut while the windows are kept up. Only point is - Bear can't enjoy the wind in his face!
