Let's face it, if you are not motivated, you are not going to get on with appropriate time management. If you keep putting things off because you don't feel like doing them, things just won't get done. But what if it would be feasible to inject fun into the things you need to do anyway? This is what time management motivation is all about.
In order to turn some unpleasant chore around, as it were, you need to take another look at it to see if there isn't something in it that you could actually enjoy doing. Let's say that you detest house work. Okay, think of how good you will feel once it's done. Let's say you hate homework. Okay, think of how proud you will feel once it's all behind you.
If at all possible, try to get your friends involved in some of your jobs. You can't have them come over and clean house with you, but there are things that you could ask them to help you with. Being lighthearted about some things can actually make them less of a chore and more of a pleasant diversion. And your friends can help you achieve this.
Sometimes friends can be of help, but then so can some positive aspect added to a task. If doing homework is tiresome, try to turn on the radio to the classical music station and allow the sounds of music help you through your reading or writing. This sort of background diversion is okay if it doesn't distract you from what you are trying to achieve.
Another fine time management motivation trick is to think of the fact that whatever chore you are about to do, it won't last long. Compare vacuuming, for example, with serving in the army and being sent abroad to fight in a battle. Or compare hitting the books before a test to spending time in prison. Once you make such comparisons, you'll start counting your blessings.
One last thing to keep in mind is that upon completing certain jobs you may earn some rewards.. If you know that after vacuuming, for example, you can have a dish of ice cream, you are less likely to be cranky. When you have some reward awaiting you after a chore, the chore becomes less of a burden.
There are many times when managing given tasks loom large when in fact they are small fry in comparison to what would really be some big deal. So try to stay on the side of lightheartedness and keep things easy-going and fun. This can truly be an inspiring time management motivation for you.
